An enduring Minneapolis destination, Zelo was opened in 1999 by Rick Webb, a Minnesota restaurateur whose pursuits have set the standard in Twin Cities dining for over 40 years. “High-quality” contemporary Italian plates are what it’s about at this “rock-solid” Downtown enclave where “modern minimalism” meets “old-fashioned” class, and service is “respectful without being cloying”; a few find it a “bit pricey” for the genre, but it is still “popular and crowded”, especially the “cool” bar area that doubles as a “runway for people-watching.”
